Began in 1909 as Theta Sigma Phi, a college honorary for women in journalism; the Indianapolis chapter was founded in 1928 by students of Butler, Indiana and DePauw Universities. 1972 the name was changed to Women in Communications, Inc., and men were accepted as members.
